Marin Chiclana doll, a type of Spanish doll renowned for its traditional costumes, often portraying flamenco dancers or regional attire. This doll was manufactured by the José Marín Verdugo Factory, established in 1928 in Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain. It’s distinguished by the meticulously crafted traditional Spanish costumes and expressive postures, depicting flamenco dancers in regional Spanish attire. The doll in the image, adorned with its intricate lace mantilla, black top, and patterned skirt, exemplifies this characteristic. The factory achieved international acclaim, even receiving the Medal of Merit of Labor from the Spanish government in 1976. Although the factory closed its doors in 2014, and the associated museum in 2018, these dolls continue to be sought-after collectible items.
